Research Description:
I am investigating how stress induced phosphorylation of chromatin associated proteins mediates the reactivation of genes necessary for tissue repair and regeneration. More specifically, I am focusing on the highly conserved Polycomb and Trithorax group proteins and how stress phosphorylation of these proteins alters protein function, allowing for chromatin remodelling and reactivation of repair genes in Drosophila.
